If you’re an outdoor lover seeking a hiking experience for your adventurous elopement or engagement photos, I have a few suggestions for you! No matter the season, there is always something new to discover, seemingly unending forests, sparkling lakes, and wonderous rivers. From beginner trails that allow you to slowly meander your way through dense forest pathways to advanced options that with breathtaking scenery, there’s something for everyone.
For those seeking an easy and enjoyable hiking experience, the L’Envol Trail delivers beautiful views amongst the crisp mountain air. This 4 km long excursion will take you approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes roundtrip through a trail lined with sugar maple yellow birch trees until you reach your lookout destination. Here you can enjoy the views of the Valley of the Pimbina while you have a snack at one of the picnic areas. A favorite trail for individuals and families, the L’Envol is open year-round, with services including restrooms, shelters, and camping. Pets are not allowed.
This hike can be done in about 45 minutes and leads to epic 360 degree views! It is a truly stunning location that overlooks Mont Tremblant from all sides. I would say it’s moderate just because it is a good climb but it is not too long, so very doable for engagement photos or your elopement. If you want some guests here at this location, taking the helicopter up to the top is an excellent option!
A really beautiful loop that is for the more advanced hikers. It takes about 2.5 hours to complete but it is really epic! There are many viewpoints along the way so a few options for the location of reading your vows.
The Paradise Lake trail in the Alfred Kelly Nature Reserve is near Prévost, Quebec, only about 45 minutes from Montreal. It is a short hike, taking about 55 minutes to complete with a stunning view of Lac Paradis at the end of your hike. There are some fairly steep inclines making this a moderate level trail but the view is well worth it! No dogs or mountain bikes are allowed.
There are many trails in this beautiful national park! So if you are looking for an easy trail with beautiful nature views or a really good hike with epic views, there are so many choices from easy to moderate to difficult. But each one has so much beauty to offer from the lakes and mountain views.
The Mont Ouareau trail is perfect for those seeking a more challenging route that is still doable for families. This 3.3 km long trail will take around 2 hours to complete and is a favorite for bird watching and running. There are activities available for every season, but June through October are the most popular. Dogs are welcome, but they must be on a leash.
For over 35 years, outdoorsmen have enjoyed hiking the Liberator harry trail to capture the views at the top of its 875 m high summit, Montagne Noire. Famously known as the highest point in Saint-Donat, you can gaze for miles along the beautiful mountain-filled scenery, stretching as far as the eye can see. On your way to the top, take a breather at the Mesangeair shelter, located at 850 m, where you can relax until continuing onto the summit. Once you get there, be sure to explore the crash site of an RCAF Liberator crash from 1943. The Liberator Harry trail is a 13 km long roundtrip and will take you roughly 6 hours to complete. It’s open year-round and includes restrooms and shelters. Pets are allowed.
